A new model of the version just came out, and of course I’m eager to try it out. While ChatGPT 3 was kind of eh when it came to writing fiction, the successor performs much better. Watch me talk to it.

This next version of ChatGPT looks really promising — at least to me, a writer. In this article I’m asking ChatGPT 4 to create stories. The results are astonishing. While the past model kind of stuck in the same factual style (even when writing fiction), and not even prompt tweaks helped that much, this one is definitely a few levels above.

Usage of indirect speech is just one example of the progress that’s happening beyond the scenes. The most striking thing, however, is the big jump in terms of vocabulary and expressiveness power in general. If you want to take a look at the details of what happened there, here is the paper.
